Every realtor will tell you to make sure that you are pre-approved before you even start looking for a new home, and although that is a crucial step, there is so many other things to do as well!
Consider homes with rental opportunities, as a way to make some extra money. Whether you rent out a room in the home you'll be living in or you go for an entirely separate Airbnb property, this is definitely something to consider before making your big purchase.
Another big thing to consider is moving cities, this can be a great way to get more property for less money. This is an especially great option for those who work remotely. However, if don't work from home be sure to consider if the costs of commuting is worth the money you'll be saving.
Lastly, make sure you love the neighbourhood you are going to be living in. You want to make sure that you love your living conditions and overall quality of life that your neighbourhood can bring you. It would be a lot better to know if your home is at the centre of loud late night gatherings sooner rather than later.
